Wool World Award – I.W.T.O (2006)


Wool World Award was organised by International Wool Textile Organisation (IWTO) which aim is to promote the use of wool among the textile industry. ‘Light in Darkness’ is an exploration of phosphorescent qualities in a woven fabric. A phosphorescent yarn was twisted around wool tape in a taffeta structure to design a carpet. The result is a fabric that stores light during day and releases it in darkness. Light in Darkness was awarded in the category of Concept and Innovation in 2006 and presented during the 50th I.W.T.O Congress in El Cairo, Egypt.
